Spider Pig's Thoughts on the 2012-2013 FF Season

  1. The NFL is a quarterback's league now... it pays to have a servicable QB/WR corp. RB's are not as dominant as before (see Shaun Alexander and LT's 20+ TD seasons)
  2. TE's are quickly rising in terms of % contribution to overall team points (no analytic support)
  3. If you're looking for a DEF, pick whoever is playing against Cleveland.
  4. If you own any offensive players on Cleveland, may God have mercy on your soul.
  5. Same applies if you own any of these players:
    • Chris Johnson
    • Fred Jackson
    • Jamaal Charles or Peyton Hillis
    • Anybody on the Arizona Cardinals
    • Russell Wilson
  6. Be very careful trading with Aaron. Or Luke
  7. Matt Ryan will have the best fantasy season for QB's, Peyton will finish as a top 5 QB
  8. Is Justina insinuating that Nicks and Cam are potheads? I'm a bit lost
  9. The superbowl will feature the 49ers against the Texans. The 49ers will win.
  10. Every NFL fan in 90 seconds
Predictions:

Spider Pig over The Debbinator (+8)
odoyle RULES over errrdayI'mRUSSELIN (+20)
Green Nicks and Cam over choubacca (+3)
Rainbow Warriors over QuitPooingOnMeTim (+10)
RelientK over THE PAIN TRAIN (+0.1) - Game of the week

  1. Nice list.

I'm going to only party agree with #1. Yes, the NFL is becoming a more pass-happy league now, but having a star RB is still as important as it was before. If you don't have any running game established, it makes your team one-dimensional and easy to beat. Packers running game sucked last week, and they lost to the Niners, even with Rodgers throwing 300+ yards and 2 TDs. Panthers passing game was pretty good (300+ yards, 1 TD for Cam), but they had absolutely no running game, and lost. Even in fantasy, having reliable points from your RB is invaluable, especially when WR production is so inconsistent. Just my thoughts.

Also - where are those numbers in your predictions coming from? Just curious.

  2. It's more of a passing league, but time of possession is really really important. Defense and running game helps with that.

  3. The 49ers are my pick to win the Super Bowl, too!

I would LOVE to win a squeaker against Gabs.

  4. Gut numbers. No fancy analytics this week... reality started setting in
