Week 10 #PowerRankings - 90s Song Comp Edition!

The 90s song comps are back! With the Spotify playlist updated!

1. Terrific (Taylor’s Version) (David) (8-2) [1]

While Gabs’s team got #HighScore in Week 10, David’s team came in 2nd, plus he had solid production from multiple sources instead of one or two players with monster games. And this was without Rashee Rice, too. David’s team has been the most consistent team in our league the past 4 weeks. With a pretty easy remaining schedule, David’s team is primed for Regular Season Champ.

90s Song Comp: Ice Cube - “It Was A Good Day”

“I can't believe, today was a good day”

David’s team has done well this season, with some favorable luck on his side. Just like Ice Cube just had a surprisingly good day where no cops pulled him over, no one died in LA, he schooled everyone in basketball, and maybe some other things, David’s team is having a good season where things just seem to be smooth sailing.

2. Run It Back! (Gabs) (7-3) [2]

Gabs gets the Week 10 #HighScore off the heels of a Week 9 #LowScore, and with Jonathan Taylor on bye in Week 11, I’m afraid his team might struggle. Don’t get me wrong, the rest of Gabs’s team is pretty good, but Gabs isn’t knocking on the door of Regular Season Champ without even half of Jonathan Taylor’s production. The man has been ridiculous - more FF points this season than any other player (including QBs).

90s Song Comp: Will Smith - “Just The Two Of Us”

“Just the two of us, we can make it if we try

Just the two of us

Just the two of us, building castles in the sky

Just the two of us, you and I”

Sure, Will Smith is singing about his son here, but Gabs might as well apply this to Jonathan Taylor. As long as Gabs has JT, many FF castles will be built in the sky.

3. Just Didn’t Catch D’Achane (Haji) (6-4) [3]

Haji had an unfavorable matchup against David this past week, but the road forward looks pretty clear. According to my analysis, Haji’s got the easiest rest-of-season schedule (Jeff Chen, Luke, Jeff Lin, Laura). Assuming everyone stays healthy, Haji’s got the pieces to end the season strong and carry that momentum into the playoffs.

90s Song Comp: SNAP! - “The Power”

“I’ve got the power!”

I’m not sure if there are other words to this song, but this one sentence aptly captures Haji’s position right now. The power = Achane and CMC, who are easily the league’s best RB duo. This power, along with some supplemental boosts from Tyler Warren, Davante Adams, and an easy ROS schedule, will propel Haji’s team to success.

4. ToInfinityandBijan! (Eric) (5-5) [4]

Eric’s team is currently sitting at 6th in league standings (right at the edge of making playoffs), coming off a 3-game losing streak, yet with arguably one of the best RB groups in our league, a top-performing Justin Herbert at QB, and solid depth pieces to boot. I still think Eric’s team is strong, but if they can’t perform consistently, Eric legitimately may miss the playoffs.

90s Song Comp: 4 Non Blondes - “What’s Up?”

“And so I wake in the morning and I step outside

And I take a deep breath and I get real high

And I scream from the top of my lungs

"What's going on?"

And I say, hey-ey-ey

Hey-ey-ey

I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"”

Eric has been asking “What’s going on?” with his team as of late, especially with how the Falcons have been (mis)using Bijan. Hopefully things turn a corner and Eric can shake off his 3-game losing streak.

5. Unicorn QueenZ (Tim) (6-4) [8]

I feel ok about my team, but I would be lying if I said I don’t miss CMC. Also, I know Jayden Daniels got hurt, but I miss him too for some odd reason. Maybe because Jordan Love SUXZ.

90s Song Comp: Lauryn Hill - “Ex-Factor”

“See, no one loves you more than me

And no one ever will”

Not that my team has suffered from the numbers standpoint, but from an emotional standpoint, Lauryn Hill captures how I feel about CMC.

6. Spider Pig (Luke) (6-4) [7]

Luke’s team is sitting at 5th place in league standings, yet is 8th in Points For. His team performed decently, but gained an unimpressive win against Laura’s #LowScore team. With big names like Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Puka Nacua, Jaylen Waddle, and Chris Olave, I feel like Luke’s team should be a lot better.

90s Song Comp: Hansen - “MMMBop”

“Mmmbop, ba duba dop ba

Du bop, ba duba dop ba

Du bop, ba duba dop ba du

Yeah, yeah”

Not gonna lie, “MMMBop” is a catchy song that gets the job done as a pop hit, but definitely lacks substance. I feel the same way about Luke’s team - it has been getting the job done, and has all the makings of a great team, but whether it will sustain long-term relevance is TBD.

7. Lamar You Ready? (Jeff Chen) (5-5) [5]

I’m ready to officially declare it now - Jeff Chen’s team is this season’s biggest FF flop. It seemed like Jeff was unstoppable the 1st 5 weeks. Like, clear path to the championship unstoppable. And since then, it has been absolutely disastrous. Even the return of Lamar hasn’t been enough. A part of me was actually glad to see Jeff succeeding to start the season, and that same part is sad to see his team crashing and burning, but I have to call it like I see it. With a tougher remaining schedule (Haji, me, Abraham, Aaron), I have a hard time seeing him make the playoffs.

90s Song Comp: Smashing Pumpkins - “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”

“Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage

Someone will say, "What is lost can never be saved"

Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage”

Jeff has been a good sport taking all of our league’s jabs at him, but I feel like deep inside he must have all this rage pent up in feeling trapped in whatever cage is preventing his FFNUTHANG success, especially after getting a taste of that success to start the season.

8. 第六 (Abraham) (4-6) [6]

Abraham’s team pretty much lost after Thursday Night Football, but even so, his team continues to taper in scoring. Granted, he didn’t have Mahomes or Pickens in Week 10, so hopefully his team can turn it around. However, his rest-of-season schedule isn’t the easiest: Eric, David, Jeff Chen, and Luke. I have serious doubts about him being able to rebound.

90s Song Comp: Wu-Tang Clan - “C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)”

“Cash Rules Everything Around Me

C.R.E.A.M., get the money

Dollar, dollar bill y'all”

Just like CREAM is about surviving the mean streets of (probably) New York, Abraham will do what he can to survive the mean streets of FFNUTHANG. But at least he’s got a full cache of FAAB dolla dolla billz to dump on the hottest waiver pickup.. hopefully?

9. chinaballa (Andrew) (4-6) [9]

Andrew got the win he needed to stay somewhat playoff-relevant, but I still worry about his RB situation. After a winnable matchup against Laura coming up this week, Andrew will face a pretty tough 3-game stretch to end the season: Gabs, Eric, and David. While not statistically impossible, I think Andrew’s chances of making playoffs is a stretch given the circumstances.

90s Song Comp: Semisonic - “Closing Time”

“Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end”

As previously mentioned, this season may already be lost for Andrew, but at least he’s got some hope for next season. Drake Maye and JSN should be solid keepers, and throw in the possibility of Woody Marks or Oronde Gadsden stepping up before the season ends, and Andrew might have some promising youth to build a new beginning.

10. 大展鸿图 (Jeff Lin) (3-7) [12]

Jeff Lin got a much-needed win in the Battle of the Jeffs in Week 10 to stay safe from Sacko for now. Hopefully Jaxon Dart can recover from his concussion, and TreVeyon Henderson can continue to get enough opportunities to shine. Unfortunately, it’s been too little too late for Jeff, and his focus will continue to be on avoiding Sacko and looking just forward to next season.

90s Song Comp: Boyz II Men - End of the Road

“Although we've come to the end of the road

Still I can't let go

It's unnatural, you belong to me, I belong to you”

Jeff is probably still trying to make his way into the playoffs this season, but if we’re being real, this is the end of the road for Jeff’s 2025 FFNUTHANG season. It does seem unnatural, given how successful he’s been over the past 5 years in our league, but luck just hasn’t been on his side this year.

11. choubacca (Aaron) (2-8) [10]

Rico had a decent game from an FF perspective, but “decent” wasn’t enough to carry Aaron’s team to victory. Now Garrett Wilson is set to miss time, and add to that the fact that Aaron’s rest-of-season schedule is the hardest in our league (Gabs, Eric, David, Jeff Chen), I don’t foresee Aaron winning another game to end the season.

90s Song Comp: Coolio - “Gangsta’s Paradise”

“As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

I take a look at my life and realize there's nothin' left”

This is it, I think Aaron’s team is toast and destined for Sacko in the same way Coolio so poetically outlines.

12. Maybabyboo (Laura) (4-6) [11]

Laura’s team is seemingly on a never-ending downward spiral. I’m not sure if there is light at the end of the tunnel, except that she’s built in enough cushion with 4 wins to probably stay out of Sacko. Luck is also on her side with Aaron’s tough schedule outlined above.

90s Song Comp: Wilson Phillips - “Hold On”

“Don't you know, things can change?

Things will go your way

If you hold on for one more day

Can you hold on for one more day?

Things will go your way

Hold on for one more day”

Just hold on, Laura! I think you’ll be ok!
